Composite Siding

Your Trusted Siding Guide

What is Composite Siding?

The term composite siding simply means that the siding is made out of more than one material. This is the case for most siding, unless you have pure wood, metal or vinyl siding. A variety of siding materials are made from a combination of several different kinds of materials.

Composite siding is a very popular choice. However, not all composite siding is equally advantageous. There are three main composite siding types to choose from.

Asbestos Siding.

Asbestos siding used to be very popular for many years because of its versatility. It can still be found in many Colorado homes today. However, it has since been proven that asbestos is a dangerous material that can cause severe health problems, including mesothelioma.

Colorado Siding Repair does not install asbestos siding because of its many dangers. However, if you are worried that you have asbestos siding, we can look at it and determine what should be done next. We partner with a local company, Asbestos Abatement, to remove or abate asbestos siding. They can safely handle this dangerous material.

After the necessary asbestos abatement or removal measures are completed, we are happy to work with you and install siding that is much better for you and your health. We offer many different siding options to replace dangerous asbestos siding and get your home looking beautiful again.

Composite Wood Siding.

Composite or engineered wood siding is another great choice for Colorado homeowners. It offers the warm and attractive look of wood siding without many of its disadvantages.

Composite wood siding is made out of wood strands or wood chips and fibers that are compressed and then bonded together with glues or resins. The resulting material is more resistant and durable than natural wood siding.

This siding requires less maintenance than solid wood siding but it does still need to be painted regularly. Not all composite wood siding is equally well made. That is why we work with the SmartSide products from LP that are high-quality and durable.

LP SmartSide composite wood siding is a premium product that offers great options. This engineered wood siding looks like traditional cedar siding. The texture is very similar to natural wood siding but it is more resistant to termite and other damages, like fugal or hail damage. It is also coated with waxes to make it more water resistant.

LP SmartSide products come in a wide range or profiles and styles. You also have a large variety of colors to choose from. This engineered wood siding will last a long time. Additionally, it has a lower price point than natural wood siding. Another advantage is that it can be used for partial replacement projects as well.

Fiber Cement Siding.

Fiber cement siding is a relatively new product. It was developed in the 1980s and has steadily gained popularity since then. The siding is made out of a combination of silica, water, cement, and cellulose fibers. Today, it is the premium siding product on the market. It offers a number of clear advantages.

One major advantage of fiber cement siding is its durability. It lasts many decades and stands up well to the harsh weather conditions of Colorado, including everything from wind to hail and extreme heat. This siding will not warp, fade or crack but will remain looking beautiful.

Having fiber cement siding installed is a great investment with a huge ROI. Your home will increase its value and curb appeal. This siding is available in a wide variety of colors, styles, and textures so that everyone can find what they are looking for.

Fiber cement siding comes with great warranties. James Hardie offers 30-year product and 15-year finish warranties. This will give you peace of mind for many years to come. Maintenance for this siding could also not be easier. It can be painted if you want to change the color of your home but otherwise it just needs to be washed off every once in a while.

James Hardie is the leading manufacturer of fiber cement siding. You can trust the quality of this premium product and its durability. Colorado Siding Repair is an expert in installing James Hardie fiber cement siding and you are sure to love this product.
